Punarjani (Malayalam for "re-birth") is an organization which aims at helping those people, and their dependents, who have, by misfortune or chance, happened to be addicted to alcohol or narcotic drugs. The Trust itself consists of members who were either former alcohol addicts or their well-wishers, and also those who have intervened to help them, out of humanist feelings, to recover from their fallen state.

We are happy to inform you that on the 30th of March, 2005, our Trust had purchased 0.4452 Hectares [equivalent to One Acre Ten Cents] of land adjacent to the Poomala Dam Reservoir for the purposes of our institute. The purchase of the land cost us around Rs. 5 lakhs, and we are now undertaking the process of planting in it green medicinal plants to create a ‘Star-Forest’. This is essentially done by growing the respective plants of each ‘birth star’. We hope this venture would provide a peaceful, natural, meditative and totally unpolluted atmosphere to the inhabitants of the Retreat & Rehabilitation Center.
